Message from Mr Irvine

It gives me great pleasure, on behalf of all the staff, children, parents, and governors, to warmly welcome you to Ashley Academy. We hope our website provides you with a wealth of information about our vibrant, supportive, and welcoming school community.

I am honoured to serve as Headteacher of Ashley Academy. Having previously worked as Deputy Head, I have built strong relationships with our children, families, staff, and governors, and I am committed to leading the school with ambition and care. Ashley Academy is a proud member of the WISE Academies Trust, and together we are determined to ensure that every child receives the very best education and experiences possible.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection in June 2025 recognised the significant progress we have made, grading us Outstanding for Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management, and Early Years, with the Quality of Education judged as Good. This is a tremendous achievement, reflecting the dedication of our staff, the support of our families, and the brilliance of our pupils.

Ashley Academy is at the heart of its community. We are committed to being inclusive, nurturing, and ambitious for every child. We want our pupils to be happy, safe, and successful, developing their talents, skills, and character so they are fully prepared for the next stage of their lives. Our curriculum is ambitious and exciting, designed to spark curiosity, build resilience, and instil a lifelong love of learning. We are proud of our caring ethos, where children support one another and celebrate each other’s achievements.

Life presents challenges at every stage, which is why our school values are at the centre of everything we do– At Ashley Academy we Aspire and Achieve, we are Resilient and Proud. These values, alongside the teaching of respect, resilience, and reflection, prepare our children to flourish not only in school but also as thoughtful, confident citizens who can make a difference in the wider world.

We are delighted by the improvements we have already made to our school environment, including a newly developed outdoor area and a fully refurbished Nursery, both of which provide high-quality spaces for our youngest learners. As a school family, we value the vital role parents and carers play in their children’s learning and warmly welcome your involvement in school life.

Ashley Academy is more than a school – it is a community where every child is valued, cared for, and inspired to achieve their very best. We look forward to welcoming you into our Ashley family.

We're in School Everyday!

At Ashley Academy we are working hard in ensuring that 'We're in School Everyday.' As part of this initiative, we have been celebrating Attendance Week. Throughout the week, children have engaged in a range of activities highlighting the benefits of attending school regularly, focusing on the importance of being present and engaged in their learning.

The children have also designed a poster, where a winner from each has been chosen and has received a special prize to celebrate their achievement.

As an extra incentive, ALL children have received an additional playtime, adding an element of fun to the week's activities.
